Hello, once again, all you sports fans, im Joey Craytin here with some news on the TCBA season.
If you tuned into my last addition it stated the surprise start from michael redd, who is averaging just about 30 points.
The next surprise is up in the north, where [glow=green,2,300]Rafeal Arajuo [/glow]is playing great for the Raps and is averaging just about a double-double.
Before the TCBA year started, the Toronto Raptors were worried that they wouldnt have a big man in the middle, because Bosh was too skinny and weak to play center and Villenuva is a rookie and they thought that he wasnt ready to play C, which is true, he is focusing more on becoming more of an antoine walker type player. Rafeal was drafted 8th overall by the Raptors all the way back in the 2004 NBA season, 2 years before the NBA went on strike and collasped. In his rookie year he produced little, and spent most of his games, as expected, on the bench.
The Raptors are in the process of rebuilding so they decided to have Araujo start, to hope insure that he devolps into the player former Raptors GM who drafted him thought that he would be. But the new GM didnt want Araujo playing all of the Center minutes so he decided to only play him 26 min a game.
Despite the Raptors horrible 8-20 record they are very excited to see Araujo develop, in 26min he is averaging 11 and 9, just about a double-double, if Rafeal keeps this up he could be in the race for the TCBA MIP. If he improves his game and learns the fundementals, in the future, dont expect to see the raptors being a team missing out on the playoffs,because a deadly and tall frontcourt of Rafeal.Bosh. and Villuenva could be scary to many teams and create miss matches.
Araujo is a young stud, who is a hustler and plays with excitment. He also is a good learner and a good leader in the locker room even though he is only a rookie.
Most TCBA analists have said the key to Araujo's success so far is his quickness with his feet and his ability to keep balanced; here is Raptors announcer James Ludy with what he sees in Araujo's game and how it has changed;
Hello, James Ludy here, and some key things to Araujo's early success is his nack of wanting to do better, when ever he has a goal he does whatever he can to accomplish it. He also stays late after every practise and runs sucicieds and practises his post game. When everyone is tired and on the bench he is working on whatever he feels. Also during water breaks, he doesnt stop doing the drill, he keeps doing it. Over the summer he didnt take a break like most players, he was in the gym 5 days a week for 8 hours a day. He also bulked up a bit and added muscle to help him become bigger and stronger, his goal was to bulk up 10 pounds, he bulked up 15. He also over the summer worked on his footwork, he used to be a slow mover but now hes quick and does the right movements. He now uses his speed to out hustle his opponet. Also by getting quicker and gaining muscle, he can now guard the Center postiton and the Power Forward postion. Araujo has gotten so much better, and dont think hes going to slow down, he is special, and thats all i need to say.
Thank you James, thats it for me, tune in to our next addition where we are going to feature another big surpise that has shocked the TCBA in a good way.
