Who will win the mvp?
Who will win the mvp this year? With so many good candidates it will be very tough to choose
With the season soon coming to a close it is already time to talk about the mvp award. There have been a number of players who have stood out this year, but only one player will be awarded with the highly coveted award. Today we will be talking about the top 5 candidates for the award, and will be counting down from 5 to 1.
# 5--Kobe Bryant--L.A Lakers
Kobe has been his usual self this year. After a rough beginning of only 24 ppg; Kobe was determined to prove his critics wrong. Over the last 2 weeks Bryant is averaging 36 ppg and has brought his yearly average to above 28 points a contest. To go along with his 28, Bryant is also averaging a career high 8.5 rebounds and 6.2 assists. Kobe has lead the Lakers to a 27-18 record, and it doesn't look like anyone is going to stop him. Bryant had one of the best years in his career, but we still do not think he will win the mvp because other players have shined even more.
# 4--Dwayne Wade--Miami Heat
To put it simply- Dwayne Wade is a fucking beast. This statement is true in so many ways it is uncanny. Wade has raised his game to another level this year, and is proving his worth night in and night out. Wade's averages have also gone up this year. He is averaging 26.2 pts to go along with career highs in rebounds, assists, and field goal %. Even though Wade has been spectacular this year, we still can't give him the MVP nod because of some other outstanding players. However, we can give him the praise that we all know he earns. He takes over games, and is clearly one of the best players in the TCBA.
# 3-- Dwight Howard--Orlando Magic
Dwight Howard has been simply phenomenal throughout this 2007 season. No one ever expected him to play this way before the season started, but he has proved the critics wrong. After adding 20 pounds have muscle in the off-season, it was clear Dwight was on a mission. So far, he has been acing the mission with flying colors- averaging career high's in every major category. We expect Howard to win the award in the near future but Kevin Garnett's and Lebron James seasons have been un-matched.
# 2--Lebron James--Cleveland Cavaliers
"King" James, as they call him, is fully living up to his expectations. His ability to let the game come to him is astounding and he is the best young player we have EVER seen in the nba.....and yes, I DO mean ever. Lebron has hit multiple game winning shots and has lead the Cavs up the ranks to the # 2 team in the eastern conference. James is averaging 30.1pts 8.9rebs and 5.4assists to go along with a career high .478 FG%. Lebron HAS been the king this year.
--Kevin Garnett--Minesota T'Wolves
Kg has been nothing but spectacular this season, and we expect him to win the TCBA MVP award. Garnett was the MVP of the all star game, and has won the Player of the month award twice- more then any other player in the league combined. Garnett has also averaged career high's in all of the big categories; averaging 29.4 pts 14.3 rebs and an astounding 5.7 assists. Garnett has lead a gm'less Timberwolve squad to a respectable 22-24 record, and has been nothing but excellent. Kg is going to be the MVP!
Honorable mentions- Chris Paul, Tracy Mcgrady, Tony Parker
Chris Paul- Top rookie of the year candidate- almost averaging a triple double
T-Mac- Has been the normal Mcgrady, averaging a terrific 26 pts and 7 rebs
Tony Parker- Having a career high; averaging 22, 11, and 4
